Cellular functions are governed by proteins and cellular adaptation to stress involves changing the cells’ protein composition (proteome). We are interested to understand how protein synthesis (RNA translation regulation) is coordinated and what functions might lncRNA and RNA binding proteins play in this context. This question is particularly important in cancer as the cancer cells tightly regulate their proteome to adapt to the stressful tumor micro environment.
